Laura Heine Collage Quilting
Prep class--in the two hour prep class will cover:
* Laura Heine products that will be used to build the collage.
* Fabric selection, color choices, creative backgrounds
* Construction methods and finishing suggestions
* How to fuse fabrics with Steam a Seam 2
The goal is for everyone to be able to look for fabrics in their stash if not using a kit. And to fuse fabrics and cut motifs to be prepared as possible for the full day class.
Full day class:
During the full day class, we will be laying out our patterns and pattern ease and begin building our collages. Laura Heine techniques will be taught. I will be working with each student individually to help them create their one of a kind Laura Heine collage. (Students on average complete their main design, add their backgrounds and are starting to add motifs by the end of the class. Everyone works at their own pace.)

| Requirements: | Steam a Seam 2 (cannot be lite), Pattern Ease, Karen K Buckley scissors - blue handle, Goddess Pressing sheet -17 x 24, extra pressing sheet if making Teeny Tiny, No. 2 pencil or gray or black Sharpie, Rotary cutter and scissorsthat can get gunky, fabric glue, rotary pinking blade, each student must have a Laura Heine pattern |

| Instructor Bio: | Karla - "I?ve sewn, quilted and crafted since my early teens. Made a hand embroidered, hand quilted baby quilt and some scrappy quilts before heading off to college. Did mostly garment sewing before getting married and having a family. Once the empty nest happened, I wanted to get back to quilting. I took a class to make a lap quilt and then a class to make a T-shirt quilt. I enjoyed building a stash by attending shop hops and then organized quilt retreats to quilt up that stash. Along the way, I?ve gained a great group of quilter friends and love being part of the whole quilting community. I?m open to trying all types of quilting. Becoming a Certified Laura Heine Collage Quilting Instructor has given me the opportunity to show a new way of quilting to others that want to try something different." |
